Get ready for a mixed media adventure! In this hands-on art lesson, young artists will create bold, expressive backgrounds using open-ended process art — then layer on a realistic animal portrait to make their masterpiece pop!

Using a super fun and easy image transfer technique, kids will build confidence in drawing while learning to mix and layer watercolors, chalk pastels, and colored pencils for amazing texture, color, and depth.

This project is perfect for building real artistic skills while still leaving plenty of room for creativity and personal flair. Every piece is totally unique — just like the artist who made it!
